Donald Trump is pissed; Ron DeSantis is smiling

Lots of things get under Donald Trump's skin so it shouldn't be surprising to find out that Trump isn't happy tonight. While Trump isn't happy tonight, Ron DeSantis is likely smiling tonight. That's because the Des Moines Register is reporting that Kim Reynolds will endorse Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at a rally in Des Moines Monday.

According to the Register's article, "After months of quietly signaling her support for Ron DeSantis, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds will formally endorse the Florida governor for president at a Des Moines rally Monday, sources close to both confirmed to the Des Moines Register." This is a big, big deal. Pundits have repeatedly said that Gov. DeSantis couldn't get his campaign started for a multitude of reasons. Gov. Reynolds is the biggest somebody in Iowa not named Grassley, van der Plaats or Deace.

That isn't all in terms of Gov. DeSantis and Gov. Reynolds. She plans on campaigning with Gov. DeSantis in Davenport, IA on Tuesday before helping Gov. DeSantis with fundraising in Miami, FL, on Wednesday. In Oct., Gov. DeSantis is quoted as saying "I think what she’s been able to do in Iowa has really been a model for how people should govern. Clearly, I think she could have a really significant impact. And I think any candidate running would be a fool not to want to have the support of Reynolds." Then there's this:

The decision angered Trump, who has already lashed out at Reynolds over her apparent coziness with DeSantis, accusing her of being insufficiently loyal. Reynolds was a firm Trump ally while he was in the White House, but she withheld any endorsement of him early in the 2024 race.

Soon after the news broke, Trump's campaign fired off a statement saying, "Kim Reynolds apparently has begun her retirement tour early as she clearly does not have any ambition for higher office."

Clearly, Trump coveted Gov. Reynolds' endorsement. When she picked Gov. DeSantis instead of picking Trump, he lost it ... again ... for the millionth time. That's Trump's problem. This is Trump's reaction to Gov. Reynolds' endorsement:

If and when Kim Reynolds of Iowa endorses Ron DeSanctimonious, who is absolutely dying in the polls in Iowa and nationwide, it will be the end of her political career in that MAGA wouid never support her again.
My question for Mr. Trump is simple. How is Gov. Perdue doing in Georgia these days? OOPS! I forgot that David Perdue got his butt whipped by Brian Kemp in the Georgia GOP primary.

Finally, Trump keeps whining about other people's loyalty to him. Where was his loyalty towards Gov. Sarah Huckabee-Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany, his last 2 White House press secretaries? I guess that, with Trump, loyalty is a one-way street.

Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo interrogated Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday Morning Futures. The first half of the interview, Bartiromo asked policy questions. Gov. DeSantis showed his understanding of the issues and presented his solutions on everything from China, inflation and growing the economy. The first reply he had was to cut spending. His next reply was to open energy production. Third, he talked about the importance of increasing productivity, which he correctly said is the best way to eliminate inflation.
