Barack Obama, our morality arbiter
He's quoted as saying "All of this is taking place against the backdrop of decades of failure to achieve a durable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians. One that is based on genuine security for Israel, a recognition of its right to exist, and a peace that is based on an end of the occupation and the creation of a viable state and self-determination for the Palestinian people."
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you shouldn't attempt to put Palestinians right next to Israelis. Palestinians hate Jews to the point that they've stated in Hamas's charter that their goal is to eliminate the Jewish state. Further, Israel used to inhabit the land currently held by Jordan in addition to the land it was given by the British.
Palestine never was a nation. They were more of a tribe. Historically speaking, they used to live in northern Africa, Tunisia to be specific. Why shouldn't the West Bank and Gaza be given to Israel because they won those lands during the 6-Day war? That's when Egypt, Jordan and Syria tried eliminating Israel Israel in 1967. Their problem was that Israel's military wasn't just better. Israel's military was superior.
In this video from the Foundation's pontificating session, Barack Obama asked a key question:
He asked himself "There's still a part of me that's saying 'Well, was there something else I could've done?" That's the best question I've heard him ask of himself. Let me reply. Yes, Barack, there is something different that you should've done.
First, you should've ripped the 2-State Solution blueprint into confetti-sized pieces. Telling Israel that the proposal for peace and prosperity is to live next to homicidal terrorists isn't just insane. It's cruel. That shouldn't happen anytime.
Hamas is essentially the 21st Century version of the Nazis. They hate Jews every bit as much as the Nazis did. If the world looked away from Israel, there's no doubt in my mind that Hamas would attempt another Holocaust. The next thing that Obama shouldn't have done is negotiate the JCPOA with Iran. Iran used the pallets of cash from Obama's administration to fund proxy wars against Israel. What part of that sounds wise? Third, Obama shouldn't have started his administration with his apology tour. That's a sign of weakness. It sent the signal that they could trample him. Other than those things, he did ok. Almost.
