Joe Biden's Ukraine forever war policy

I'm tired of hearing people like FNC's Brit Hume and the WSJ's Daniel Henninger talking about what they're characterizing as Joe Biden's strong speech from the Oval Office Thursday night. In Brit Hume's defense, he didn't have the opportunity to read Biden's speech. Henninger had plenty of time to read the shocking policy statement Biden made about Ukraine.

When Biden said "On Ukraine, I’m asking Congress to make sure we can continue to send Ukraine the weapons they need to defend themselves and their country without interruption so Ukraine can stop Putin’s brutality in Ukraine", I wondered why he didn't speak of winning. After all, Biden clearly thinks they're capable of defeating Putin's military.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have said "When Putin invaded Ukraine, he thought he would take Kyiv and all of Ukraine in a matter of days. Well, over a year later, Putin has failed, and he continues to fail. Kyiv still stands because of the bravery of the Ukrainian people."

Here's the FNC opening segment after the speech:

Reluctant Republicans would likely jump on board funding Ukraine if they heard a legitimate plan for defeating Putin's military. I don't side with Trump's worldview that we should attempt to get along with Russia. I'm a proud Reaganite. Defeating the Russian bear was the most important part of President Reagan's foreign policy. That's why he spoke about the Soviets' evil empire. That's why he confronted the Soviets by arming the Soviets' opponents.

The other weak part of Biden's speech was when he barely mentioned Iran. This is the totality of what Biden said about Iran:

Iran is — is supporting Russia’s U- — in Ukraine, and it’s supporting Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region. And we’ll continue to hold them accountable, I might add.
That's 28 words, including Biden's nightly fight with the teleprompter. It's time for Biden to unleash the dogs. It's time for him to let Ukraine defeat Putin's military. The last thing we need is back-to-back 20-year wars.

Biden isn't dealing with reality:

American leadership is what holds the world together. American alliances are what keep us, America, safe. American values are what make us a partner that other nations want to work with. To put all that at risk if we walk away from Ukraine, if we turn our backs on Israel, it’s just not worth it.
If we're so trustworthy, why did the Saudis just contact Iran? The Saudis hate Iran. The Saudis are said to want to join the Abraham Accords and normalize relations with Israel. The opposite of Israel is Iran. Yet here we are staring at the possibility of Iran and the Saudis joining the nuclear club together.

China is making inroads into the Middle East, too. Chinese values are the opposite of the values this nation was built upon. Iranian values are the opposite of the values this nation was built upon. Simply put, this speech was a hodge-podge of words spoken with a confident tone.
