Ron DeSantis goes on the offensive re: Jan. 6

Gov. Ron DeSantis is going on the offensive against the MSM over the mischaracterized insurrection of Jan. 6. He told Russell Brand that the so-called insurrection was nothing of the sort. Gov. DeSantis said "I think it is ridiculous how much money they pumped in for the Capitol Police. This was not an insurrection. These were people that were there to attend a rally and protest. It devolved into a riot, but the idea that this was a plan to somehow overthrow the government of the United States is not true and it is something the media has spun up to try to get mileage out of it and use it for partisan and political aims. I know there were a lot of people there who were just there, and they didn't have any designs on doing anything."

Gov. DeSantis continued, saying "We just have to be honest about it. If somebody is honestly doing an insurrection against the U.S. government, then prove that is the case and I'll be happy to accept it. But all you're showing me is there were a lot of protesters there and it ended up devolving in ways that were unfortunate of course, but to say they were seditionists is just wrong."

Honest people know that you can't have an insurrection without having gun charges being brought against those arrested. Capitol Hill is pretty fortified, especially on the day they make the election results official.

Here is part of Gov. DeSantis' interview with Russell Brand:

It's a fun interview because Gov. DeSantis speaks to the issue of moving power out of DC. Gov. DeSantis also talks about how much of the power in DC is unconstitutional and/or the result of Congress giving away part of its power or the White House grabbing power it isn't meant to have.

Let's be clear about Jan. 6, though. The MSM is very interested in pushing the insurrection meme. It isn't interested in highlighting what actually happened on Jan. 6. That's unfortunate because it's impossible to find what you refuse to look for.

Right now, the MSM is interested in highlighting anything that benfits Democrats. They aren't interested in anything that benefits Republicans.

Gov. DeSantis needs to talk about his plans to stymie inflation, make the U.S. energy independent again and promise to be 'the Parental Rights President.' If Gov. DeSantis campaigns on those things, he'll narrow the gap between Donald Trump and himself.
