Joe Biden finally admits that he's a deadbeat grandpa

Joe Biden must've gotten some bad polling on his unwillingness to admit he had a 7th grandchild. Why else would Mr. and Mrs. Biden issue this statement to People Magazine late this Friday afternoon? The Bidens' statement said "Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward. This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy."

The People magazine did their best in trying to spin the situation. They quoted a "source familiar with the situation" who said "You have to remember there were some fairly contentious legal proceedings between Navy’s parents happening until just a few weeks ago. As grandparents, the Bidens are following Hunter’s lead" adding "They are, and have been, giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out."

First, Hunter didn't admit he was Navy's dad even after the paternity test proved conclusively that he was Navy's dad. Next, why did Joe Biden and Jill Biden insist repeatedly that they had 6 grandchildren, not 7?

The excuse of following Hunter's lead while he and Lunden work things out isn't plausible, either. POTUS and FLOTUS could've sent a letter to Lunden saying something meaningfule-but-nondescript that said 'We look forward to meeting our granddaughter the minute you and Hunter work things out.' That would've been the right thing to do. This video describes the child support agreement between Hunter and Lunden:

What people do in private often reveals who they are. Jill Biden put up Christmas stockings for 6 of her grandchildren but not for Navy. She even put Christmas stockings up for the Biden family dogs, despite the fact that one of them bit Secret Service agents multiple times. J.C. Watts once said that "Character is doing the right thing when no one is watching." Joe and Jill Biden don't have much in the way of character according to J.C. Watts' definition.
