James Comer doesn't want special counsel appointed for Hunter

Jamie Comer didn't mince words in talking about his investigation into the Biden Crime Syndicate. He doesn't want Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter and Joe Biden. Chairman Comer rightly thinks that his House Oversight Committee is doing a great job already.

Additionally, Chairman Comer said "I have no confidence in special counsels. I have no confidence in Merrick Garland to appoint an independent, credible, unbiased special counsel. I think we're making a lot of progress in our investigation. So, we're gonna continue to plow forward."

Thus far, the Biden administration has used the DOJ, FBI, IRS and 2 Biden-appointed U.S. attorneys to thwart this investigation. The minute that a special counsel is appointed is the minute all the witnesses go silent. What's the usefulness in that?

Further, Chairman Comer hopes to have Devon Archer testify in front of the House Oversight Committee later this week:

"We are looking forward very much to hearing from Devon Archer about all the times he has witnessed Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s overseas business partners when he was vice president, including on speakerphone," said Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the committee chairman.
The downside to doing it this way is listening to listening to the Democrats' endless noise that Hunter Biden was just a poor, misguided drug addict and that Joe Biden didn't have anything to do with Hunter's sordid deals. Instead, I wish that all testimony and direct went like this:

Democrats got to cross-examine Mssrs. Shapley and Ziegler. The Democrats definitely took shots at these witnesses. What didn't change was Mr. Shapley's and Mr. Ziegler's testimony. If you want to find out the truth, the cross-examination of witnesses is the best tool in finding out the truth. This isn't a friendly lawyer lobbing softball questions at the witness. This is a hostile attorney grilling the witness to within an inch of his/her life. If the witness's testimony doesn't change, that's a major victory for the prosecution.

I wouldn't trust Garland's DOJ to vigorously investigate Hunter Biden any more than I'd trust a speed-eating champion at an all-you-can-eat meal. Trusting Garland is foolish. Chairman Comer is right in keeping the investigation in-house.
