Dan Wolgamott arrested for DWI

A frequent reader of this blog forwarded me some stunning news that's certain to shake up next year's elections. Dan Wolgamott, my state representative, was arrested "on a state highway in rural Kanabec County on Friday evening by a Minnesota State Patrol officer." According to the State Patrol Officer who stopped Rep. Wolgamott's vehicle, "Wolgamott’s vehicle was weaving, lacked a front license plate and had expired registration." Also, "Wolgamott failed field sobriety tests and registered .106 percent in a preliminary breath test, which is above the legal limit of 0.08 percent."

While I've vehemently disagreed with Rep. Wolgamott's votes, that doesn't mean I'm without compassion for him. I hope he gets whatever help he needs. It's important for him to admit that he's got a problem.

Another loyal reader of this blog told me that this isn't Wolgamott's first driving problem. I'm told that this alleged incident happened in St. Louis Park. Allegedly, Wolgamott ran his vehicle off the road and into a person's yard, where he got stuck. After trying to extricate his vehicle, Wolgamott allegedly walked over to then-House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler's home. The next day, the car was allegedly retrieved from the impound lot.

One thing that's part of the public record that might factor into this is the fact that Rep. Wolgamott is a recent divorcee. Perhaps that explains his drinking. At this point, it's impossible to know without interviewing him. I can't imagine Rep. Wolgamott wanting anything to do with the media.

At this point, Rep. Wolgamott's political career is hanging by a thread. It's a little ironic that Rep. Wolgamott was endorsed by the MPPOA. It's a little ironic that "Wolgamott, 32, was recently recognized as legislator of the year by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association." Finally, there's this that shouldn't be ignored:

The trooper had been on the lookout for a vehicle matching the one Wolgamott was driving after a complaint was lodged about a person drinking vodka in a liquor store parking lot. He was the only person in the car at the time.
More than anything else, Rep. Wolgamott needs to straighten himself out. That won't happen if he's still serving in the legislature. He owes it to his kids to straighten himself out. This man shouldn't be allowed to drive anytime soon:

What is Kamala Harris afraid of?

Apparently, Kamala Harris suddenly loves debating. Let me rephrase that. Harris loves debating as long as the moderators are partisan hacks. She wants nothing to do with a debate moderated by Fox's Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. She's afraid of Bret and Martha because a) they'll either fact-check both her and Trump or they won't fact-check either of them and b) Bret and Martha aren't afraid of asking follow-up questions. To a candidate whose answers are scripted and who isn't quick on her feet, the last thing you want is a follow-up question. Kamala fears follow-up questions like vampires hate wooden stakes, sunlight and holy water. Why has Kamala Harris avoided Fox News like the plague? The moderators/propagandists fact-checked Donald Trump aggressively but didn't fact-check Harris . Why didn't David Muir and Linsey Davis fact-check both candidates equally? Why is Joe Biden letting Hamas off the hook?

It isn't disputable whether Joe Biden's administration is letting Hamas off the hook. That issue was settled months ago, when a spineless Joe Biden caved to activists interested in saving Hamas and thwarting the Israelis' attempt to defend themselves.
