Chuck Grassley's latest FD-1023 report

It's understatement to say that Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley is upset with the DOJ and FBI for their handling of the FD-1023 investigation. Sen. Grassley isn't happy that the FBI and DOJ didn't follow normal investigative procedures to verify the form's contents' authenticity. In a Tuesday speech from the Senate floor, Sen. Grassley said "We’re in July 2023 and we’re talking about a June 2020 document. The FBI can easily answer those questions. The fact that they haven’t indicates to me that the Justice Department and FBI haven’t followed normal investigative protocol."

Grassley continued, saying "Remember this: 'To date, the Justice Department and FBI have not disputed any of their allegations,' he continued, referring to whistleblower allegations concerning the Biden family. 'Further, remember this: That includes information relating to this 1023 that I’ve made public, and some of this information goes back to October of last year. And in that period of time, the Department of Justice and the FBI haven’t disputed any of that information. And a perfect chance for Christopher Wray, Director of the FBI, to do that would have been with that telephone conversation that he had with Chairman Comer and me.'"

This isn't that complicated to figure out. The FBI and DOJ tried hiding the existence of the FD-1023 form because of the potentially explosive nature of the information contained in the form. To those who've said that the information is unverified, Sen. Grassley said in his speech yesterday that the Confidential Human Source's location was verified as being in the same European city as the Burisma CEO at the time that the CEO was there.

I'd call that corroboration but that's just me. Tensions are high between Sen. Grassley and Chairman Comer on one side and the FBI on the other side:

Tensions have escalated between Wray and Republicans after the FBI director initially refused to hand over an internal law enforcement document, an FD-1023 form, that Republicans believe exposes a "criminal scheme" tied to Biden and an unnamed "foreign national." The FBI initially refused to hand over the document, as they claimed it contains unsubstantiated intelligence. The agency claims that Comer, Grassley, and Republicans needlessly escalated the situation.
I'd argue the opposite. By initially withholding the document, the FBI needlessly ramped up the tensions. Then, when the FBI finally agreed to release the document, they released a highly-redacted copy of the document but only to a select few members of the Committee. At that point, Sen. Grassley released a largely-unredacted copy of the FD-1023 to the public, partially because the form isn't classified. This is the video of Sen. Grassley's speech from yesterday:
