The social issues election?

Over on Fox Business, a number of their hosts insist that this will be an economic election. The truth is that most of the top-tier candidates have a strong economic platform to run on. The top-tier candidates each want to return to lower taxes, fewer regulations and energy independence. While Donald Trump isn't that interested in fiscal restraint, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy definitely are interested in fiscal restraint.

Meanwhile, Ramaswamy and DeSantis are totally comfortable talking about things like the woke agenda, the trans faux war and education/school choice. For instance, Gov. DeSantis attacked Joe Biden over last Saturday's Pride event at the White House. That's the event where "transgender activist Rose Montoya [took] his top off after meeting the president."

Afterwards, Gov. DeSantis said "I think when you have the inappropriate conduct at the White House with, like, these transgenders flashing people nude and all this stuff, you know, it’s just totally, totally inappropriate. And I think even the White House had to acknowledge it was inappropriate, but I would ask them, if it is inappropriate to do that at the White House, which I certainly think it is, why do you want to have that curriculum jammed into a second grader’s classroom? That’s what you’re always talking about."

Notice how Gov. DeSantis tied the Pride Month criticism with a contrasting statement on policy. It's as if Gov. DeSantis said 'Yes, Montoya's actions were inappropriate but if it's inappropriate for adults to see this stuff, why is it ok for there to be pornographic books in grade school libraries?'

It's impossible picturing Trump putting out that message. It just isn't who he is. I don't think that's because he doesn't care. I think it's because it's never been a priority for him. Look at how natural Gov. DeSantis looks delivering this message:

Check this out, too:

The White House backpedal has started:
After facing significant backlash over the event, the White House claimed that the behavior was "inappropriate and disrespectful for any event at the White House."

"It is not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance," a White House spokesperson said. "Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events."

Right. The LGBTQI+ crowd is always well-behaved. The truth is that we're as worried about woke society as we are about our wallets. We aren't more worried about Woke, Inc. than we're worried about our wallets. Thanks to Biden's policies, though, he's screwed up so much of what we think of as important to the point of needing a total overhaul.

We need a fresh perspective and a new voice to make these important changes. This is too important a moment to miss this opportunity. Trump has the perspective to make some of these changes but he doesn't have the fresh voice to persuade the masses into making these changes.
