Ron DeSantis takes Donald Trump to the woodshed

People have said for quite a while that Gov. DeSantis would need to directly challenge Donald Trump if he wants to win the nomination. According to Sister Toldjah's article, it appears as though that ass-paddling arrived this week. It started with a simple gotcha question of "Will you support Trump if he won the GOP nomination?" Rather than answer that question, Gov. DeSantis replied "So, what I would say is this. When you are saying that Cuomo did better on Covid than Florida did, you are revealing yourself to just be full of it. Nobody believes that. And you know why I know that? Because I remember in 2020, in 2021, when he was praising Florida for being open, saying we did it much better than New York and Michigan and everyone was coming to Florida, and that [I was] one of the great governors in the United States. And he used to say that all the time."

What I'd say is that Gov. DeSantis is right. Trump is revealing himself "to be full of it." He's been doing that for a month+. That isn't surprising because Trump fights dirty. Gov. DeSantis wasn't finished. He also replied with this:

Now, all of a sudden, his tune is changing, and I would just tell people, do you find it credible? Do you honestly find it credible? Would you have rather been in New York during Covid under [the] Cuomo regime? Or would you rather have been in the free state of Florida?

And I probably can count the number of Republicans on my hand in the nation who would have rather been under Cuomo in New York. And we know that, and so these are just frivolous criticisms. But, in some respects I think it shows that if you have to make that argument then you probably don’t have very good arguments, because the reality is everything he said about us for years about how strong we were, how good we were, how we delivered for the state, those happened to be true.

This is the question and Gov. DeSantis' reply:

Trump is a fighter but he isn't that bright compared with Gov. DeSantis or Vivek Ramaswamy. On the other hand, he's infinitely smarter than Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, aka the Cackling Pantsuit.

If we want to win the whole shooting match, though, let's not forget this information:

I don't want the GOP candidate to win the nomination, then get their fanny paddled by Biden. I want our nominee to paddle Biden's fanny, then prosecute Joe and Hunter after Joe's out of office. Let's do that after finishing building the wall, returning to energy independence and rebuilding the economy the right way.

After Minnesota's Democrats shoved the most controversial progressive legislation down Minnesotans' throats, gossip started popping up about Gov. Walz being interested in running for president . Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo interrogated Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday Morning Futures. The first half of the interview, Bartiromo asked policy questions. Gov. DeSantis showed his understanding of the issues and presented his solutions on everything from China, inflation and growing the economy. The first reply he had was to cut spending. His next reply was to open energy production. Third, he talked about the importance of increasing productivity, which he correctly said is the best way to eliminate inflation.
