Joe Biden's Hunter mess, continued

Just when Hunter Biden seemed to have disappeared from Joe Biden's list of things to worry about, he figures out a way to ruin a perfectly good weekend at Camp David. Bill McGurn shows that Hunter is a total pain in the butt he is in his latest column.

According to Mr. McGurn, Joe Biden's headaches are caused by Jamie Comer, the GOP Chairman of the House Oversight Committee. In his column, McGurn writes "House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has forced into public the existence of a Federal Bureau of Investigation FD-1023 form detailing an informant’s claim that a Burisma executive paid $5 million each in bribes to then-Vice President Biden and his son. After the bureau begrudgingly let a few members of Congress look at the document, Sen. Chuck Grassley revealed the FBI had redacted the part about the executive saying he had 17 audio recordings of conversations with Joe and Hunter Biden."

This thing stopped being a nothingburger when Sen. Grassley took to the Senate floor to tell senators that a) he'd seen the unredacted FD-1023 and b) part of the redaction hid the Burisma executive's audiotape recordings of this executive bribing the Bidens. That got everyone's immediate attention. Sen. Grassley forced into the public's conversation that the Biden family are and will always be grifters. Joe can play the part of being a nice guy but that isn't who he is. He's a plagiarist with a terrible attitude. But I digress.

The latest development came Thursday, courtesy of the House Ways and Means Committee. Republicans on the committee released testimony from two Internal Revenue Service "whistleblowers" accusing the Justice Department of interfering in their investigation with the aim of protecting Hunter Biden. The testimony included a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp text allegedly showing Hunter Biden threatening a Chinese business partner who hadn’t fulfilled some unnamed "commitment." "I am sitting here with my father," the note says. All this news comes on the heels of a plea agreement with the Justice Department that deals only with Hunter’s taxes and a gun charge.

Team Biden has responded by going back to the script that worked so well in 2020, talking about how the president loves his son and attributing anything embarrassing to Hunter’s crack-cocaine addiction. "It’s a bunch of malarkey," the president said earlier this month to a question about bribery. On Monday he tersely answered "no" when asked if the new evidence proves he hadn’t been truthful about his knowledge of Hunter’s business deals.

There's that Joe, the ornery old cuss and Joe the Grifter coming out simultaneously. Check this out:

Joe Biden is a grifter who thinks that Reaganomics was a failure. That means he's stupid but he isn't a man of integrity. Here's proof that KJP isn't too bright or too honest:
You hear us say that over and over again, because we believe that trickle-down economics does not work. And we have seen that over and over and over again.

And what we have seen, even before the pandemic, is we’ve seen Americans and American families being left behind. And so one of the things that you are — the data — if you look at the data and what we have — we’ve seen from what the President has been able to deliver in the last two years is an economy that’s getting back on its feet, an economy that’s actually delivering for the American people: 13 million jobs; you know, unemployment rate at under 4 percent.

When Reagan took over, unemployment was 10%, home mortgage rates were 16% and we were in a major recession. We were losing jobs, too. Despite all that, Reagan got inflation under control while implementing economic policies that created 22,000,000 jobs in 8 years. For the better part of 3 years, the economy grew at an annual rate of over 5%, something that Bidenomics won't come close to accomplishing in their wildest dreams.

PS- That "economy that's actually delivering for the American people" is delivering inflation at unwelcome rates. Michael Faulkender said something Monday that's fitting here. He said that a guy that gained 50 lbs., then gained another 20 lbs. isn't getting healthier. He's just getting fatter at a slower rate. It's time to admit that Bidenomics isn't making us more productive. It's just making us more reliant on the government, which isn't a positive. Faulkender added that, under Biden, we're getting twice the inflation at half the growth under Trump.

That's quite the indicting statement!
