Hunter Biden's friends in the IRS

Apparently, you've got lots of friends if you're the son of a famous fossilized politician, especially if that famous fossilized politician should've retired 2+ decades ago. Gary Shapley testified in front of the House Ways and Means Committee in the form of a deposition. Shapley is an "IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent." In his testimony, Shapley said that the plea deal reached with Hunter Biden was lenient.

Specifically, Shapley said "The recommended felony tax evasion charges, that's 7201, is tax evasion, and 7206(1) is a false tax return, also a felony, for the tax years 2014, 2018, and 2019. And for Title 26 7203, which is a failure to file or pay, that is a misdemeanor charge for '15, '16, '17, '18, and '19."

That means Hunter didn't pay taxes for 5 straight years! How does the average taxpayer earn millions of dollars over 5 years get a lenient penalty and no jail time? Anyone who isn't the president's son would be seeing striped sunlight for a decade or more. This is what Jason Smith, the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, said:

The testimony we have just released details a lack of U.S. attorney independence, recurring unjustified delays, unusual actions outside the normal course of any investigation.
That leads to the belief that Merrick Garland is putting his elbow on the scales of justice. Publicly, Garland insists that the U.S. attorney working the case has all the latitude to prosecute whoever he wants. In reality, the whistleblowers' testimony proves different. Marjorie Taylor-Greene insists that she won't stop pushing the investigation. I believe her:

She's right in highlighting all of the banking records and Suspicious Activity Reports. Coupling those documents with in-person testimony creates significant difficulty for the Biden Crime Syndicate. The window is closing for Joe Biden, too. The story about him sitting next to Hunter, who was shaking down a Chinese businessman isn't a flattering picture. Joe doesn't exactly move quickly anymore (of he ever did) so sidestepping this isn't easy to picture.
