What to make of a Tim Walz vs. Ron DeSantis presidential matchup?

Let's suppose that Joe Biden decides not to run for re-election in 2024. It's a given that Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom would jump into the race within 24-48 hours. According to this Daily Beast puff piece, there's a possibility that Minnesota tough guy and Gov. Tim Walz would be tempted to jump into the race.

The Daily Beast's opinion is that Gov. Walz is a Democrat tough guy who wouldn't hesitate to stand up to Gov. DeSantis. That's foolishness. Gov. Walz is the blithering idiot who picked Peggy Flanagan to be a heartbeat away from Minnesota's governorship. Don't forget that this is the same Peggy Flanagan who infamously said "When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent."

Gov. Walz is the idiot who thinks it's a good idea to let 10-year-olds determine whether they're a boy or a girl:

When he signed an executive order on Wednesday making Minnesota a refuge state for all those seeking gender-affirming care, Gov. Tim Walz spoke of those behind the bans instituted in other states.

"It’s being led by bullies, and I say this as a teacher, we cannot stand bullies," said the 59-year-old Democrat, who was a high-school geography teacher and football coach before serving five terms in Congress, and now a second term as governor.

He added of the ban backers, "Nothing to gain for themselves, not following any factual data, and essentially using the state apparatus to bring cruelty."

Watch this video of Gov. Walz signing an executive order 'protecting'the 'trans community':

Pay particular attention to Hao Nguyen's statement. Nguyen's trans daughter is 6-years-old. Walz then followed Nguyen, saying "We're going to put pen-to-paper today to say 'this state will protect you." People used to think that Tim Walz had a set of core princicples. There are still people that think that. Those that think that he's got any principles that fit with normal people's priorities are far removed from reality. What 6-year-old knows what they want to be when they're 35? If Tim Walz is ok with irreversible chemical castration of 6-year-olds, then he doesn't have the mental capacity to be a be a fifth grader.

Gov. DeSantis, by comparison, has the mental capacity to be our next commander-in-chief. Watching a DeSantis-Walz debate would be a fun event for Republicans.
