Peggy Flanagan's Kamala moment?

Peggy Flanagan apparently doesn't know what a parent's responsibilities are. It's apparent because she said something so stupid that it'd make Kamala's speechwriters blush. At a press availability, Flanagan said "When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent."

That's breathtakingly, frighteningly stupid. Children aren't allowed to sign contracts for a reason. They're often incapable of making mature decisions because that part of the brain takes time to develop. Further, children haven't accumulated the wisdom that comes with a multitude of different experiences. With those experiences come mistakes. Mistakes are often the best teachers because success often is one step ahead of complacency. A mistake often sharpens the mind and increases discipline.

According to the article, "The viral comment was made during a press conference earlier this month when Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order making Minnesota a sanctuary state for gender transitions, including for minors and residents of other states with more restrictive laws." It isn't surprising that Flanagan's statement went viral. It's one of the dumbest statements I've ever heard. Watch it for yourself:

Why did Gov. Walz sign this executive order? Is he that out-of-touch with the long-term effects of these procedures?

This is a dark period for Minnesota. The DFL isn't a rational participant anymore. The DFL has lost its moral compass. 20 years from now, after Flanagan's statements have done their damage, history will highlight the damage that she's done. It won't be pretty. The truth is that it's already pretty ugly..
