Rebecca Kiessling's righteous indignation steals the show

Tuesday, Rebecca Kiessling became a household name. That's because Ms. Kiessling's riveting testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee brought the House down. Ms. Kiessling "lost her 18-year-old son Kyler and 20-year-old son Caleb in July 2020 after they consumed what they believed were Percocet pills. A 17-year-old girl also died in the same incident, but the individual who sold the fentanyl-filled counterfeit Percocet pills and also consumed them survived."

Ms. Kiessling continued, saying "Because he survived, [police] had leads to who he got it from, and they actually could try to start tracing it back. Law enforcement made it clear to me that this fentanyl came from Mexico — came from our southern border."

Democrats have the audacity to say that Biden's policies are working. Democrats "have pointed to increased seizures under the Biden administration at the ports of entry as a sign that attempts to stop the drug are working." That's insulting. Increased seizures are proof that there's increased trafficking. Despite their valiant efforts, the DEA only stops a fraction of the shipments.

Ms. Kiessling brought the House down, though, with this display of righteous indignation:

"If we had Chinese troops lining up along our southern border with weapons aimed at our people, with weapons of mass destruction into our cities, you damn well know you would do something about it. We have a weather balloon from China going across there. Nobody died. And everybody's freaking out about it. And 100,000 die every year and nothing's being done. Not enough is being done. Numbers are going up, not down."
Later, Ms. Kiessling added "This is a war. Act like it."

War is exactly the right terminology for what's happening. The Sinaloa Cartel wants to make tons of money. If that means 15-20 year-olds have to die for them to achieve their profit margin, they're fine with that.

The Biden administration hasn't cared about the U.S.-Mexico border. It's shown through the illegal crossings statistics for FY2020-FY2023YTD. In FY2020, the last year of the Trump administration, 460,000 people crossed illegally. In FY2021, the first year of the Biden administration, 1,750,000 people crossed illegally. In FY2022, 2,380,000 people crossed illegally. Thus far in FY2023, 1,010,000 people have crossed illegally. That's in 5 months. The peak season for the year is still ahead. It isn't a stretch to think that 3,000,000 might illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border in FY2023.

Elon Musk nails it:
