Joe Biden's administration is AWOL

When it comes to fixing problems or adjusting to changing conditions, Joe Biden's administration isn't quick-footed. Actually, that's understatement. The latest examples are the Norfolk Southern derailment and the shooting down of the China spy balloon. Those aren't the only examples of the Biden administration's sluggishness. They're just the most recent.

What's different this time is that Democrats are criticizing Biden's administration's response to the derailment and the Chinese spy balloon. For instance, Sen. Manchin, (D-WVA), is upset. Sen. Manchin said "he's pleased EPA Administrator Michael Regan visited the site on Thursday" before saying it isn't "acceptable that it took two weeks for a senior administration official to show up." That's being a little gentle for my liking. Biden has touted himself as an environmentalist. The derailment in East Palestine, OH happened on Feb. 3. The EPA administrator visited on Feb. 16. If Biden is a bigtime environmentalist, why didn't he mention the derailment in his SOTU Address?

Why didn't he say that he's putting Michael Regan in charge of cleaning up the Ohio River and the streams and making sure that the ground water is safe for drinking both in the short- and long-term. Why didn't Biden use the SOTU to announce that he's putting Transportation Secretary Buttigieg in charge of putting together a list of railroads in disrepair. Have Secretary Buttigieg compile the list with the sections of railroads in the worst shape at the top down through the 'top 50.'

Let's not forget that Biden told us that inflation would be temporary in July of 2021. On July 15, 2022, Fox Business wrote that we'd had "13 straight months of high inflation since the Biden administration dismissed concerns about rising costs and said the contributing factors were 'transitory.'" This quote should live in infamy:

"We have in recent months seen some inflation, and we — at least on a year-over-year basis — will continue, I believe through the rest of the year, to see higher inflation rates, maybe around 3 percent," Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said about in inflation in early June 2021. "But I personally believe that this represents transitory factors."
She must've meant 3% squared, which is 9%. That 'transitory' inflation rate that would top out at 3% is still with us 2 years later. Now inflation has come down to 6.4% instead of topping off at 3%.

Let's not forget our southern border, which Secretary Mayorkas insisted was closed:
"I think clearly, these figures show that what we are doing along our southwest border, what the current administration has done, that that’s not working," Guest said, asking Mayorkas if he stands by his previous statements that the situation at the border is under control. Mayorkas defended his previous statements and later during the hearing confirmed his belief that the border is "secure."
That's after this reporting:
Border officials have apprehended more than 1.5 million illegal immigrants at the southern border through the 2021 fiscal year — more than the population of at least 10 states, a congressman noted Wednesday in a hearing over the spiraling crisis.
During FY2022, almost 2,400,000 border apprehensions were recorded. This year is on pace to top FY2022 by a significant amount.

Whether it's dealing with inflation, train derailments, illegal immigration or Chinese spy balloons, the Biden administration has failed. They're simply worthless at making life better for the American people. Finally, there's this:
