Jim Clapper caught in Joe Biden's, Hunter Biden's trap

Jim Clapper, the former Director of National Intelligence in the Obama administration, insists that he's the victim. Clapper insists that the letter that he and 50 other intelligence 'experts' signed is accurate in the sense that they didn't say that they knew the letter was part of a Russian disinformation operation.

According to the letter, these 51 'experts' said "If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this." These 'experts' prefaced that sentence by saying "We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails ... are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement."

In other words, these 'experts' are expressing a strongly-held opinion that the Russians were interested in interfering with the 2020 presidential election. Further, these experts issued this letter just 2 weeks before the 2020 presidential election. What did these experts think? What was their intent? Perhaps this paragraph will help us with those questions:

Such an operation would be consistent with Russian objecives, as outlined publicly and recently by the Intelligence Community, to create political chaos in the United States and to deepen political divisions here but also to undermine the candidacy of former Vice President Biden and thereby help the candidacy of President Trump. For the Russians at this point, with Trump down in the polls, there is incentive for Moscow to pull out the stops to do anything possible to help Trump win and/or to weaken Biden should he win. A "laptop op" fits the bill, as the publication of the emails are clearly designed to discredit Biden.
Based on then-President Trump's no-nonsense approach to Russia and China coupled with Biden's history of appeasement, why wouldn't the Russians want 4 years of Biden instead of another 4 years of Trump? At the time, Biden kept insisting that he'd stand up to Putin and Xi Xingping. Trump supporters knew this was Biden BS, not reality. Putin and Xiinping had to do was look at his Iran policy to know Biden was a squish. Why wouldn't they prefer Biden over Trump? In this interview, Bret Baier pins David Priess down multiple times:

Priess insists that they (the 51 signatories to the letter) didn't know if the letter was real. That's problematic in that the laptop had been in the FBI's possession since December, 2019. How did the FBI have that laptop for 9+ months and not determine that the laptop was authentic? They can tapdance all they want but that's a difficult thing to get around.

Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo interrogated Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday Morning Futures. The first half of the interview, Bartiromo asked policy questions. Gov.
