Joe Biden's latest document drama

James Comer, the new chairman of the House Committee on Oversight & Accountability, appeared Monday morning on Fox & Friends First. The topic du jour was Biden classified documents. Chairman Comer said "the investigation into President Biden's alleged mishandling of classified information is of the 'upmost importance' after it was revealed the FBI discovered notebooks in his Delaware home that may contain classified material."

Where doesn't Biden have classified information? Miranda Devine reports that "A Rasmussen poll out Monday, and exclusively revealed here, shows that almost three-quarters of voters (72%) regard the president’s handling of classified records as a scandal. That includes a majority (55%) of Democrats."

This discovery isn't that surprising. Neither is the poll result. Democrats are likely willing to look past Biden's mishandling of these sensitive documents but they've got to know that mishandling top secret documents is wrong. Digging beneath the surface of the Rasmussen Poll doesn't bring a silver lining. Here's another important finding:

But even more damning for the president is that 60% of all voters believe it is likely that information from those classified documents "was used by Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, in his foreign business deals." Fully 44% believe it is "very likely." Among Democrats, 36% believe it is likely that Hunter used his dad’s classified files, with more than one in five saying it is "very likely." Not a good omen for the president’s bid for re-election.
Ted Cruz effectively prosecutes the case against the Biden family in this interview:

Mike Miller is right in speaking out on this. He quoted from Sen. Cruz's 'prosecution' of Hunter:
Hunter Biden didn't write that. Hunter Biden is not an expert on Ukraine. He’s not an expert on Eastern Europe. He’s not an expert on Russia, but that email did help get him on the board of Burisma.

It did help get him paid $83,000 a month because it showed a level of expertise not coming from him, but he was getting it from somewhere. That’s clearly from some sort of briefing. We don’t know whether it was a classified briefing or not, but that is the sort of analysis that is often within a classified briefing.

Here's part of what Hunter allegedly wrote:
Some sort of decentralization will likely occur in the East. If it doesn’t the Russians will continue to escalate there [sic] destabilization campaign, which could lead to a full scale [sic] take over [sic] of the eastern region most critically Donetsk. The strategic value is to create a land bridge for RU to Crimerea.
Hunter might be a smart guy but he isn't a Ukrainian or Russian expert. Besides, what civilian writes RU instead of Russia? This discovery suggests that there's more layers to peel from this onion.
