The corporate media-Biden administration axis of propaganda

Clearly, the corporate media has an effect on how people perceive issues. Nowhere is that more apparent than with the issue of immigration. In December's Harvard-Harris Poll, respondents were asked "Do you think the number of monthly border crossings by illegal immigrants has increased, decreased, or stayed the same since President Biden took office?" 64% of respondents said that it had increased, while 15% said it had decreased while 21% said that it had stayed the same. The next question asked "How many border crossing by illegal immigrants do you think are occurring each year?" 16% said that "less than 100,000" had crossed, with 21% saying that "between 100,000 and 250,000" had crossed. Just 18% said that "between 250,000 and 500,000" had crossed illegally. Another 20% said that "between 500,000 and 1,000,000 had crossed illegally." Still another 12% said that "between 1-2 million" had crossed illegally. Just 6% thought that "between 2,000,000 and 3,000,000" had crossed illegally.

It's important to remember that the respondents were asked how many people were crossing illegally each year. The fact that Fox News was the only news organization that consistently had correspondents deployed to the border speaks volumes. The NY Times, CNN, Washington Post and the networks only had people covering the border occasionally. They didn't have people at the border. They only covered the border for the whipping of Haitian immigrants.

As bad as the media coverage has been, this administration's intentionally dishonest responses to the whipping incident is terrible, too. Check this video out:

"Those people will pay." That's what Joe Biden said right after the whipping incident. Then he said that they'd start an investigation into the whipping incident. In other words, Joe Biden announced his verdict before they'd started the investigation.

Rachel Scott, ABC's White House correspondent, asked "You said on the campaign trail that you were going to restore the moral standing of the U.S., that you were going to immediately end Trump's assault on immigrant communities. Given what you saw on the border this week, have you failed in that promise?" I'm thankful that she's a straight news reporter, not an activist with an agenda. (Just kidding on that.)

Given Joe Biden's intentionally dishonest answers on the whipping incident and the media's intentionally dishonest coverage of the whipping incident, it's amazing that a tiny portion of people got it right in terms of how many illegal immigrants cross the U.S.-Mexico border annually. Those that knew the right amount, give yourselves an A+ in informed citizenry.
