The Swamp's Hall of Shame, Omnibus edition
Steny Hoyer's name is at the top of the list on the House side. In a statement that sounded like it was extracted from the Onion or the Babylon Bee, Hoyer said "the government funding process is 'unacceptable.'"
That's one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard. Hoyer is the House majority leader until Jan. 3, 2023. He's the one who schedules votes on the House floor. If he has an objection with the government funding process, he has the juice to make his objections heard. While it's true that Speaker Pelosi might politically neuter him for saying anything, he shouldn't be intimidated by Pelosi. Hoyer isn't much of a leader if he doesn't have the stones to stand up for what's right.
Check out this video: Chip Roy has the stones to stand up for common sense. Apparently, Steny Hoyer didn't have the cajones to fight against the Tyrant from San Francisco. Steny Hoyer is a typical Swamp rat. He's perfectly capable of sounding outraged without being outraged. Why didn't Hoyer fight against proxy voting once the COVID pandemic was essentially over? That might've precipitated a better debate, though I doubt that Democrats are capable of debating things substantively.
Steny Hoyer's statement deserves recognition in the Swamp Hall of Shame. Mitch McConnell's actions and statements deserve recognition in the Swamp's Hall of Shame, too. In this instance, though, McConnell outdistances Hoyer by a country mile. What a disgrace they are to their once-deliberative bodies.
