Alejandro Mayorkas hates accountability

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is doing his best to tell the American people that the border is secure. People aren't buying his BS, partially because he's lost his credibility on securing the border. Simply put, it isn't credible to say that the border is closed when deportations have sharply declined during the Biden administration compared with deportations during the last 2 FYs of the Trump administration.

ICE removed 72,177 illegal immigrants in FY 2022, slightly more than the 59,011 deported in FY 2021. Ice deported 185,884 illegal immigrants "in FY 20 (the last full fiscal year of the Trump administration) and 267,258 in FY 2019." This indicates that the Biden administration isn't serious about deporting illegal immigrants, especially considering the fact that 1,734,000+ illegal immigrants crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in FY2021 and another 2,378,000+ illegal immigrants crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in FY2022.

FYI- In the first 2 months of FY2023, 617,000+ illegal immigrants crossed that were apprehended, with another 240,000+ gotaways getting through in the first 2 months.

This is troubling:

On a call with reporters, ICE Acting Director Tae Johnson said that in FY22, "ICE dedicated significant resources to helping secure the southwest border and ensuring the processing of migrants."
This isn't border security. That's how the Biden administration opens the floodgates for illegal immigrants. It's rightly seen as attracting illegal immigrants. Why wouldn't illegal immigrants see this as proof that they won't even have to apply for asylum? This just verifies that they won't have to do anything except get across the border:

Tom Homan put it perfectly. This isn't incompetence. It's intentional. With this administration, it's all about doing the opposite of what Trump did. It doesn't matter whether Trump's policies were making U.S. families safer.
