Angry Keith Ellison vs. Jim Schultz

Friday night, a frustrated, angry Keith Ellison attempted to make up ground against GOP challenger Jim Schultz. From a substantive standpoint, Schultz exercised command of the issues while displaying that he, not Ellison, has the right vision for the Minnesota OAG (Office of Attorney General). From a body language standpoint, Ellison got wiped out. He interrupted too often. He was dismissive in a snotty way with Schultz. Ellison's worst part of the debate was when the DFL AG said he doesn't support the Defund-the-Police movement.

Ellison said "We had some difficulties in Minneapolis with George Floyd’s murder, and it was important to get together and talk as a community about how that never happens again. I wanted to see the department be more inclusive, police plus gang violence prevention, plus mental health, plus housing." That's BS and Keith Ellison knows it. This article provides proof of AG Ellison's dishonesty. The article opens by saying "Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar have thrown their support behind the Minneapolis ballot initiative that would replace the police department with a new department of public safety. 'As a resident of Mpls where George Floyd’s murder sparked a national call for real reform, I will vote Yes for greater public safety & more human rights for all,' Ellison tweeted on Tuesday." This is KARE11's report from Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis:

What part of that event sounds like they didn't want to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department, aka MPD? The sign at the front of the stage literally said "Defund the Police." It's apparent that Keith Ellison thinks he can spin his way out of whatever situation his radical policies have put him in. Here's the receipt showing angry, frustrated Keith Ellison interrupting everyone in sight, including the moderators:

Before going further, let's highlight part of Lisa Bender's speech at Powderhorn Park. She said "Our commitment is to end the City's toxic relationship with the Police Department." Mr. Ellison, please explain how you aren't for defunding the MPD while supporting amending the Minneapolis City Charter that the City Council said would end the MPD. The simple truth is that Mr. Ellison can't explain how he's for amending the Minneapolis City Charter to eliminate the police while still publicly saying he doesn't favor elimininating the MPD.

That's a conundrum that Houdini couldn't get himself out of. PS- Angry Keith Ellison isn't Houdini.
