What is Tim Walz's solution for crime?

Shortly after George Floyd's murder, DFL leaders, starting with Ilhan Omar, insisted that the Minneapolis Police Department, aka MPD, had to be dismantled ASAP. Members of the Minneapolis City Council quickly put together a proposal to dismantle the MPD and create a department of public safety. To their credit, the Charter Commission rejected the plan. In justifying the City Council's request, the Charter Commission simply asked the City Council for details for the new department. The City Council admitted that there wasn't a detailed plan.

Starting in a few weeks, Minnesotans have the opportunity to render a verdict on Tim Walz's plan for making Minnesota, especially Minneapolis, safer. That's if they can find the Walz Plan. Based on this article, I don't think that plan exists.

. The article opens by saying "Another four people were injured by gunfire Friday night in a shooting outside a north Minneapolis bar. According to police, the injured parties include a pregnant 17-year-old girl with possibly life-threatening wounds, a pregnant adult female in her 20s with non-life-threatening wounds, an adult male in his 30s with potentially life-threatening wounds, and another adult male in his 30s with non-life-threatening wounds."

Tim Walz can't fix this problem because he's reliant on the minority community to help him win re-election. Many of the victims are minorities but a significant portion of the criminals are, too. A major show of force by the police likely would alienate lots of voters. Then there's this:

Just 24 hours earlier, two people were killed and seven others injured in three separate shootings across Minneapolis. One of the deceased victims was just 16-years-old.

4th Street Saloon is just down the street from Merwin Liquors and Winner Gas, nicknamed “murder station” by some activists, at the intersection of Lyndale Avenue North and West Broadway Avenue. Four people were injured in a shooting outside Winner Gas Thursday night. Last Friday, four people were shot outside Merwin Liquors, meaning 12 people have been shot in the area in the last week.

David Zimmer's article has an appropriate title. It's called "Violence in Minneapolis – the new norm". In his article, Zimmer wrote this:
Here are just a small handful of the incidents from last night in Minneapolis, as recorded by Crime Watch MPLS, and MN Crime.
  • 16xx Plymouth Ave N Police arrived. Juvenile male shot in the chest. One of the four people shot in this Bullwinkle’s incident died for homicide number 62 in Minneapolis this year.
  • One other had potentially life-threatening injuries.
  • Police heard about 5 shots north of the 2nd Precinct in #NEMPLS. Near 19th/20th and Central Ave NE.
  • A person at the GrandMarc apartments said a bullet came through their bedroom.
  • Sounds like another gunshot victim at HCMC, dropped off by a silver Durango, plate contains 668.
  • Report of carjacking at gunpoint. 32xx Elliot Ave

This is Tim Walz's One Minnesota, a Minnesota where gunfire and violent crime is everywhere. It's a Minnesota where the current governor doesn't have a solution for violent crime.
