Open letter to Kevin McCarthy, Speaker-in-Waiting
From: Gary Gross, uppity peasant in the Midwest
Subject: First bill submitted
Mr. McCarthy, I hope the first bill submitted in the House is the Energy Infrastructure Act. It doesn't exist yet but I hope you find this initiative worthwhile.
I'd like to see the bill be a bicameral, bipartisan bill but if Democrats won't support the bill, let's force them to vote for higher home heating bills, higher gas prices and high inflation. To use an old expression, I'd triple-dog dare them to vote against this bill. Force Democrats to tell families that the Green New Deal is more important to Democrats than cutting inflation for families is.
Part of the bill should eliminate as much Biden administration red tape for refineries, pipelines and exploration as possible. It should also include the final permits required for the Keystone XL Pipeline. It should also include opening up ANWR again.
If it's needed, let's put some money to build the Keystone XL Pipeline. Let's make this part of the GOP's commitment to American families.
Finally, I hope we see much more of this guy starting next January:
I love the policies you rattled off. I hope you live up to each of those commitments.
