Let's reject the GOP Bedwetters Caucus

For the last month or thereabouts, the GOP establishment has worried about the GOP's chances of retaking the Senate. The GOP establishment is personified by Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove.  I'd include Mitt Romney in that bunch, too, except he's pretty much disqualified himself, much like Liz Cheney disqualified herself.

People who think that Republicans face an uphill fight in recapturing the Senate's majority aren't paying attention. First, polling showing Democrats leading in battleground states are virtually all using registered voter screens. That's worth 3-5 points for Democrats. Polls using a likely voter screen show much closer races.

Next, high-quality polls, starting with Trafalgar, InsiderAdvantage and I&I TIPP, are the most reliable polls. It wasn't long ago when, Tim Ryan, the Democrats' sacrificial lamb against JD Vance in Ohio, supposedly led Vance by 3-4 points. McConnell and Rove didn't comment directly about the campaign but they were openly cautious about recapturing the majority.

Today, those fears still haven't subsided, especially with Sen. McConnell:

Now Mitch's PAC is shipping $28,000,000 to Vance to supposedly rescue Vance. Frankly, Vance doesn't need rescuing:

This is Mr. Rove's 2 cents worth:

Anyone that thinks that the raid on Mar-a-Lago is a distraction to Republicans is kidding themselves. While it isn't as important as crime, inflation, border security or Biden's recession, it's still a major GOTV force.

The bedwetters are similarly worried about the Walker-Warnock race. They shouldn't be, though they should continue working hard. Walker is improving as a candidater. Further, Warnock voted to create 87,000 new IRS agents while raising taxes. Put differently, Warnock voted for $5/gallon gasoline and 10% inflation. Warnock is a skilled grifter but he isn't that good.

It's time for the Bedwetters Caucus to stop spewing this stuff in public. It's time for them to pretend like they enjoy winning. At this point, McConnell looks like he'd prefer staying GOP leader in the minority than being a senator in the majority. It isn't a flattering look.
