The Tekle Sundberg sad saga

To listen to Arabella Yarbrough talk about Tekle Sundberg, you'd think he was a thug. Actually, that's what he was. Let me correct that. That's who he was until he started shooting indiscriminately into Ms. Yarbrough's apartment.

After a 6-hour stand-off and negotiation, police snipers allegedly shot and killed Sundberg. According to the article, "People gathered Saturday afternoon to honor Andrew 'Tekle' Sundberg while demanding more answers after he was shot and killed by law enforcement on Thursday morning. More than 100 people, including Sundberg's parents, gathered outside the apartment complex where Tekle Sundberg was shot." Sundberg's parents are represented by Benjamin Crump and Jeff Storms. Storms was with Sundberg's parents at the rally.

The latest cause celebre for leftists in Minnesota is the case of Tekle Sundberg. Sundberg tried to murder a young woman, Cassandra Yarbrough, whom he apparently did not know. Police were called, Sundberg fired repeatedly from within an apartment, there was a standoff that lasted for hours, officers tried to negotiate with Sundberg and brought in family members to try to persuade him to surrender. Under circumstances that are not yet clear, officers eventually shot and killed Sundberg. My colleague David Zimmer, a veteran of 37 years in law enforcement, has a sober and unbiased review of the facts as we know them so far.

Unfortunately, the usual race hustlers have gotten involved. The detestable Benjamin Crump has turned up, purporting to represent Sundberg’s family. And yesterday a group of mostly-white leftists protested at the apartment building where the incident took place. No doubt they were surprised to be confronted by Cassandra Yarbrough, the woman whom Sundberg was trying to kill. She expressed strong disapproval of their demonstration. Her reminders that Sundberg tried to murder her, in front of her two small children, were greeted with shouts of “liar!”–somewhat ironic, since she was there, and they weren’t–and “shut up,” the main liberal argument these days.

The white liberals have an uphill fight this time. Telling a black single mom that she's a liar is difficult in the best of times. Accusing her of lying when there's bullet holes in her apartment isn't just difficult. It's pretty much impossible. Ms. Yarbrough's words in this interview are important to hear:

What is Kamala Harris afraid of?

Apparently, Kamala Harris suddenly loves debating. Let me rephrase that. Harris loves debating as long as the moderators are partisan hacks. She wants nothing to do with a debate moderated by Fox's Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. She's afraid of Bret and Martha because a) they'll either fact-check both her and Trump or they won't fact-check either of them and b) Bret and Martha aren't afraid of asking follow-up questions. To a candidate whose answers are scripted and who isn't quick on her feet, the last thing you want is a follow-up question. Kamala fears follow-up questions like vampires hate wooden stakes, sunlight and holy water. Why has Kamala Harris avoided Fox News like the plague? Why is Joe Biden letting Hamas off the hook?

It isn't disputable whether Joe Biden's administration is letting Hamas off the hook. That issue was settled months ago, when a spineless Joe Biden caved to activists interested in saving Hamas and thwarting the Israelis' attempt to defend themselves.
