Liz Cheney's polling crisis
Ms. Cheney is desperate. In the last month, she's put out invitations to Democrats to vote for her. That's the personification of desperation, especially in Wyoming. According to the article, "This time around, it's not just Republicans who are participating in the GOP primary. Many Democrats and independents plan to take advantage of Wyoming’s same-day voter registration and party-affiliation changes to vote for Cheney. According to figures from the Wyoming Secretary of State, the number of registered Democrats and independents in Wyoming has dropped considerably more from January through July of this year than in previous midterm elections."
There simply aren't enough Democrats in Wyoming to make up that 22-point difference. Liz Cheney is a lame-duck congressperson. The J6 Committee is her last blaze of glory. Within a year, she'll be discredited. The real House J6 Committee will be appointed. The investigation into why the Capitol wasn't properly secured will be underway. This will be a real investigation. The committee members won't be reading from teleprompters. The hearings won't be produced by a former TV executive.
The biggest question left at that point will be (This is said half-sarcastically) whether Liz will run for Congress as a Virginia Democrat. That's where she spends most of her time. It isn't like the Democrats won't suffer a bunch of losses in the House this November. When they lose 2-3 House seats in Virginia, that will be Ms. Cheney's opportunity. Then again, she can always get a job as a lobbyist for a defense contractor. That job will pay lots more than a congressional seat pays.
This video highlights how the MSM is tripping over each other trying to push Ms. Cheney across the finish line in this primary:
It's time for her to be involuntarily retired.
