Joe Biden's Ministry of Truth

I haven't written about the Biden administration's proposal to create the Disinformation Governing Board yet. That isn't because I don't have strong opinions about it. Let's understand what this is. It's a defining moment in Biden's presidency. This is Joe Biden's 'Ministry of Truth' moment.

The administration that's peddled disinformation about Hunter Biden's laptop from hell can't be trusted as the final arbiter of disinformation. Period. Biden's administration told us that the U.S.-Mexico border was under control. It still isn't. The Biden campaign got 51 members of the Intel Community state that the Hunter Biden laptop story was classic Russian disinformation campaign.

Still, we're supposed to trust this administration's Disinformation Governing Board? I don't think so! Remember Peter Doocy questioning DHS Secretary Mayorkas about border security:

Here's Secretary Mayorkas testifying about the Haitian 'whipping' incident:

Paul Ratje, the cameraman who videotaped the incident, set that record straight:
Photographer Paul Ratje, who captured the shot of a Border Patrol agent on horseback in Del Rio, Texas grabbing a Haitian migrant by the shirt while his other hand held what appears to be a horse rein said he did not capture a migrant being whipped, according to KTSM. The photographer reportedly said neither him nor his colleagues saw the agents whip anyone and the photos have been misinterpreted.
Bill Melugin tweeted about the incident: The Biden administration is the personification of disinformation. The woman they've picked to head this board, Nina Jankowicz, is "a political hack."
KARL ROVE: This is not a would-be hire. She's been at this job for two months. We just found out about it yesterday when Secretary Mayorkas gave his testimony before Congress. And I'm asking, what the heck were they thinking? This is an important issue. The Homeland Security Department ought to be on the lookout for foreign attempts to influence American public opinion through the use of the internet — misinformation or disinformation. But instead, they appointed somebody to this job who's a hack, and a partisan political hack. This is a woman who attacked the Hunter Biden laptop story by saying it was a Trump campaign diversion, and promoted those kind[s] of attacks on the Hunter Biden laptop for months and months and months. This is a woman who promoted the Steele dossier. Talk about being taken in by disinformation — she was suckered into it. This is a woman who has said the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America marginalizes communities of color. What in the heck are they thinking putting this woman in charge of a vital committee that ought to be substantive, thoughtful and above reproach?
Rove is right about the first part. She is a hack. He's wrong when he said "What in the heck are they thinking putting this woman in charge of a vital committee that ought to be substantive, thoughtful and above reproach?" There shouldn't be a disinformation board in the U.S. Ever! Period. From sea to shining sea, from border to border, the U.S. is supposed to be a free speech zone 24/7/365. That concept is apparently difficult for the Biden administration to process.
