Elon Musk makes Democrats' heads explode after buying Twitter

Now that the world's richest "free speech absolutist" has purchased Twitter, it's time to pop some popcorn while watching Silicon Valley content management specialists' heads explode. How often do we get the opportunity to watch Brian Stelter look like an idiot on TV? (If you said that he looks like an idiot each time he's on TV, I won't argue with that.) But I digress.

Saying that people are divided on what effect this purchase will have on the political landscape is understatement. Liberals' heads are exploding. Capitalists are cheering this news. Apolitical people, aka independents, are mostly interested to see if Elon will keep his free speech promises.

In this article, Mr. Stelter quotes a David Rand study that says "the root of the challenge when inferring political bias is that Republicans/conservatives are substantially more likely to share misinformation/fake news..." Apparently, Rand's study didn't consider Twitter's censorship of the Hunter laptop story, which includes the 51 intelligence officers saying that the story was "a classic Russian disinformation operation". Apparently, Rand ignored the left's smearing of Nick Sandman and Kyle Rittenhouse.

How can Mr. Rand ignore the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, which the MSM got wrong for years? Mr. Rand got the lab leak story wrong, too. Initially, that was labeled misinformation. In each of these instances, Republicans/conservatives did their homework and got the story right in the end. Mr. Rand's line that conservatives are more likely to spread misinformation is downright dishonest. Here's Mr. Stelter making an a$$ of himself:

Stelter: "If you get invited to something where there are no rules, where there is total freedom for everybody, do you actually want to go to that party or are you going to decide to stay home?" This is almost too rich:

Ms. Psaki apparently doesn't think it's a big deal that a major story about Joe Biden's son's laptop was prohibited by Twitter. It's indisputable that Democrats have controlled Twitter content. They don't attempt to hide it. That's what's behind this:
"If you get invited to something where there are no rules, where there is total freedom for everybody, do you actually want to go to that party or are you going to decide to stay home?"
Elon Musk is right to say that free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. That's why the hard-left progressives hate the thought of free speech but love safe spaces and cancel culture while talking about micro-agressions.
