Exposing Nancy Pelosi's tough-on-crime schtick on national TV
Pelosi said "With all the respect in the world for [Rep.] Cori Bush, that is not the position of the Democratic Party. Make no mistake: Community safety is our responsibility." If community safety is the Democrats' highest responsibility, why were they silent the entire summer of 2020? Why did our vice president advocate for raising money for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a fund that bailed out rioters in Minneapolis? Why didn't Democrats speak out about crime at the Democratic National Convention?
In Minneapolis, Jacob Frey essentially dismissed the riots in his city. When asked about the Third Precinct police station getting torched, Frey replied "Brick and mortar are not as important as life. The symbolism of a building cannot outweigh the significance of life."
That wasn't a precaution. That's what a capitulation looks like. This is what soft-on-crime looks like:
This is Frey's response to WCCO-TV's questions about the Third Precinct: The truth is that Biden, Pelosi and Ilhan Omar have virtually no control over policing. The thing that they have control over are things like climate change, energy policy and inflation. When it comes to inflation the voting records of Ilhan Omar and supposed moderate Angie Craig are identical. Republicans aren't throwing Democrats out over crime as much as they're throwing them out for screwing up our economy, especially with inflation. Voters will throw Democrats out for America's open borders, too.If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota. https://t.co/t8LXowKIbw
