The Democrats' week from communist/Marxist hell

Mark this week down as the week from hell for Democrats. Joe Manchin saved America by killing the BBB Bill, at least until next year. When that bill died in the Senate, Democrats tried to pivot to passing their voting rights bill, which would've federalized elections. That pivot failed when Arizona Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema refused to eliminate or modify the legislative filibuster.

That's after it was reported that Sen. Richard Blumenthal told "the Connecticut People’s World Committee, a group affiliated with the Communist Party USA (CPUSA)" that he was "really excited and honored to be with you today and share in this remarkable occasion." Guy Benson had the best line of the day yesterday when he said that he'd always hoped that Blumenthal's seat would "one day go red, just not this way":

To highlight how far left Democrats have shifted, check out Elizabeth Warren's op-ed:
This month, a majority of justices on the United States Supreme Court signaled their willingness to gut one of the court’s most important decisions over the past century, threatening to eliminate Roe v. Wade and a person’s right to choose.

This is not the first time this extremist court has threatened, or outright dismantled, fundamental rights in this country. For years, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority, recently supercharged to 6-3, has issued decision after decision that veers away from both basic principles of law and widely held public opinion.

With each move, the court shows why it’s important to restore America’s faith in an independent judiciary committed to the rule of law. To do that, I believe it’s time for Congress to yet again use its constitutional authority to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court. I don’t come to this conclusion lightly or because I disagree with a particular decision; I come to this conclusion because I believe the current court threatens the democratic foundations of our nation.

That's outright spin. If the Supreme Court strikes down Roe v. Wade, which is still far from a certainty, all that means is that the issue returns to state legislatures and governors, where it should've stayed in the first place. Further, I don't care whether a ruling "veers away from ... widely held public opinion." Public opinion is what politicians often care about. Justices should care about applicable treaties and statutes and the Constitution. Period.

Sen. Warren hasn't had a good week, especially after challenging Elon Musk on Twitter:

That's stunning. Reid and Warren both called Musk a "freeloader." What solar system are they tweeting from? What's frightening for Democrats is that she's a top-tier presidential candidate if Biden doesn't run in 2024. Sen. Warren isn't a person of integrity. She's willing to say anything to anyone win votes. We need a principled president. We don't need a blithering idiot like Joe Biden or someone as dishonest as Sen. Warren.
