The Democrats' Waukesha problem

Kim Strassel's latest Potomac Watch column is titled "Democrats Have a Waukesha Problem." In it, she writes "Here’s the common reaction to the Waukesha, Wis., murders: It’s nuts that the suspect, with his long criminal history, was free on $1,000 bail posted days before the automotive rampage. Here’s New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, in a tweet the day after the Waukesha murders: 'Today, we sent a letter . . . to NYC’s 5 District Attorneys requesting information on excessive bail in the NYC court system.' The letter was also signed by fellow New York Democrat Carolyn Maloney and Maryland’s Jamie Raskin. That disconnect will haunt Democrats."

The Marxist/socialist wing of the Democratic Party is fighting the less radical wing of the party.

Rashida Tlaib has signed onto the BREATHE Act, which has a stated goal of emptying all federal prisons within 10 years. Watch Tlaib attempt to defend that legislation when cross-examined by Jonathan Swan:

Meanwhile, Joe Biden has worked hard to establish his 'law and order' credentials:
Last week, as the Rittenhouse jury deliberated, he signed three bills that boosted benefits for local and federal law enforcement, while his Justice Department released $139 million to fund more police officers across the country.
The thing is that Biden's got a talking-out-of-both-sides-of-his-mouth problem. His statement on the Rittenhouse verdict put him back on the Rashida Tlaib side of enforcement:
While the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken.
Why is Biden angry and concerned about the Rittenhouse verdict? A jury of his peers listened to all of the witnesses' testimony. They viewed all of the evidence. They applied the law and the jury instructions. They deliberated for 26 hours before reaching their verdict. This wasn't a rush to judgment. This was a thoughtful process. It was the right decision.

Crime is soaring nationally, after progressives spent years pushing to water down bail rules, forgo prosecutions, release prisoners and even defund the police. The governors, mayors and prosecutors who indulged these demands uniformly have Ds behind their names.
This will drive turnout for local races for Republicans. Between the increased turnout caused by Democrats indulging the teachers unions and Soros/Democrat DAs not prosecuting criminals, expect Republicans to have a strong night on down-ticket elections. Republicans aren't just motivated to take back their majorities in the US House of Representatives and US Senate. They're motivated to eliminating the Democrats' control of city councils, prosecutors offices, judges and school boards.

It's best to think of this situation as a nasty infection that must be eradicated before amputation is required. We can't allow Democrat Marxists to infect society with violent crime and apathy. This must be eliminated immediately.
