Dean Phillips, Angie Craig walk Joe Biden's, Nancy Pelosi's plank

I don't know what magical power Nancy Pelosi has over so-called Democrat moderates but it isn't disputed that it works. After the House passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, aka BIF, Pelosi next called a vote on Joe Biden's Build Back Better Bill. According to the Clerk of the House, the bill passed by a vote of 220 yeas, 213 nays.

Among the so-called moderates who voted for Biden's Build Back Better Bill were Minnesota's Angie Craig and Dean Phillips. Today, Joe Biden visits Minnesota to highlight the pork in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that's now law. Tyler Kistner issued this statement the day before Biden's visit:

Earlier this week President Joe Biden announced he is coming to Minnesota in an attempt to save Angie Craig’s failing campaign. Joe Biden is coming to Minnesota with stunningly low approval ratings and a record of failure less than one year into his term. Minnesotans are currently facing record inflation, a stagnant economy, and rising crime rates as a result of Biden and Angie Craig's failed policies.

"The Democrats know Angie Craig is in serious jeopardy of losing her seat in 2022 and are using their deeply flawed infrastructure legislation as an excuse to bring Joe Biden in to save Craig’s floundering political career.

"The citizens of the Second District are ready for a servant leader who will put their needs first rather than catering to Washington elites. I am always ready to have serious conversations about how we can improve our countries infrastructure, but this deeply flawed bill supported by Angie Craig is not the answer. I am ready to provide common sense leadership in Washington to get real results for Minnesota’s 2nd District."

Angie Craig has voted for every inflation-creating bill that Nancy Pelosi has brought to a vote. Ditto with Dean Phillips. They can't now claim to be moderates when their voting records are virtually the same as Ilhan Omar. The only difference is that Omar voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, aka BIF, for tactical reasons.

The reconciliation bill that Craig and Phillips voted for raises taxes on farmers and small businesses, too. How will those tax increases help the middle class and the blue collar workers of the Second District? The truth is that Craig represents the Swamp more than she represents her district. In this speech from the House floor, Rep. Craig highlights the fact that she's voting for price controls on perscription medications:

Government tampering is what drove up the price of perscription medications. Why would Rep. Craig vote for more central planning on health care? This is just the first step in the Democrats' push for Bernie Sanders' single-payer utopia.

I'd love to hear the explanation of how a person that votes to raise taxes so that US small businesses have the highest taxation rate in the industrialized world is a moderate. Further, I can't wait to hear how a person that votes for Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All is a moderate. GOP pollster David Winston nailed it with this observation:

"The agenda the Democrats are pushing is not the agenda the American people feel they’re dealing with. This is a more fundamental problem."
The Democrats are selling products that aren't necessarily unpopular. They just aren't selling products that solve the people's most pressing problems. That's what happens when you don't listen to the people. Democrats specialize in not listening. That's why they'll lose their majorities in the House and Senate in next year's midterm elections.
