Profiles in deviousness, dishonesty, Lincoln Project edition

The Lincoln Project is lots of things. Profiles in honesty and integrity aren't part of who they are. Friday morning, the Lincoln Project tried smearing Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin as a racist. Their tactic failed.

According to the article, "The disgraced anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project is facing intense backlash for orchestrating the viral hoax involving tiki torch-holding individuals associating themselves with the Youngkin campaign.

"Twitter was set ablaze after images of a group wearing white shirts, khakis, baseball caps and sunglasses stood alongside the campaign bus of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin reportedly vocal expressing support for the Republican, according to local NBC affiliate anchor Elizabeth Holmes."

This is frightening:
The stunt was seized upon by the left, including staffers from Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe's campaign. 
"The Unite the Right rally was one of the darkest days in the Commonwealth's history. this is who Glenn Youngkin's supporters are," McAuliffe spokesperson Christina Freundlich tweeted.
Freudlich should've known better. This was identified as a hoax almost immediately because one of the 'white nationalists' is an African-American gentleman. This speaks volumes about the McAuliffe campaign's (lack of) integrity.
"The Lincoln Project has run advertisements highlighting the hate unleashed in Charlottesville as well as Glenn Youngkin’s continued failure to denounce Donald Trump’s ‘very fine people on both sides.’ We will continue to draw this contrast in broadcast videos, on our social media platforms, and at Youngkin rallies," the group stated in a press release. "Today’s demonstration was our way of reminding Virginians what happened in Charlottesville four years ago, the Republican Party’s embrace of those values, and Glenn Youngkin’s failure to condemn it."
Attempts by the Lincoln Project or any other Democrat organizations to tie Glenn Youngkin to Donald Trump will fail miserably. Policywise, there's some definite similarities. Personality-wise, they're polar opposites. Further, let's remember who the Lincoln Project's co-founder is:
In January 2021, responding to a magazine article accusing him of sexual misconduct spanning a period of years, co-founder John Weaver acknowledged having sent inappropriate sexual messages to multiple men, for which he apologized. According to The New York Times, Weaver offered young men professional support in exchange for sex; that report also accused him of cultivating a non-sexual online relationship with a fourteen-year-old boy and then engaging in "sexual banter" with him after his eighteenth birthday. Following the revelations, the Lincoln Project said "John's statement speaks for itself". It later issued a follow-up statement describing him as "a predator, a liar, and an abuser" and denouncing his "deplorable and predatory behavior."

Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo interrogated Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday Morning Futures. The first half of the interview, Bartiromo asked policy questions. Gov.
