Fact-checking Jen Psaki, Abolitionist Teaching Network edition

Each Saturday afternoon, Fox has a show called The Big Saturday Show. Each week, there are 4 panelists discussing the previous week's biggest stories. One of this week's stories was about the US Department of Education's "mistake" of including a link to an organization's website. That organization's name is the Abolitionists Teaching Network.

During Thursday's White House Briefing, Peter Doocy asked Jen Psaki "On schools, first: Now that the Education Department admits they made a mistake in their guide for reopening by in -- they included advice from the Abolitionist Teaching Network, and they came out and said that was not supposed to be in there. Is the administration going to follow up with school districts to make sure that the Abolitionist Teaching Network material is not in lesson plans?" Psaki replied "Well, just to be clear, for the context — because I know you love context of what -- you’re asking about here — what you’re referring to is a citation in a report of which there were 1,000 citations. So, I’m quite impressed with your researchers for finding one of a thousand citations. It was an error in a lengthy document to include this citation. This specific site does not represent the administration’s view, and we don’t endorse the recommendations of this group. And I believe it’s been removed or is in the process of being removed."

One of the panelists on Saturday's show was Fox Correspondent Aishah Hasnie. She started off with a fact-check of Psaki, saying that there weren't 1,000 citations and that the guidance wasn't that long. Ms. Hasnie said that there were 182 citations and it didn't take long to go through the guidance, "which is why we decided to do the story." Here's the exchange between Doocy and Psaki:

It isn't likely that the Biden administration will follow up with schools on ATN since they apparently want ATN's ideology in schools' curriculum:

A Virginia elementary school included on its website a link to the controversial Abolitionist Teaching Network, which the Biden administration recently backed away from and said it included in its post-coronavirus school reopening guidance in "error."
A selection of links on the Fairfax County Public Schools website titled Local & National Organizations includes eight links -- FCPS Pride, Second Story, NAKASEC, Showing Up for Racial Justice, Abolitionist Teaching Network (ATN), Black Lives Matter, Mijente and 18 Million Rising.

This looks like the start of a knock-down, drag-out fight. It's worth noting, too, that Ms. Psaki is a smooth-sounding propagandist. It isn't difficult to tell the difference between 1,000 and 182.

This is proof that the American people can't trust the things this administration says. People don't trust Secretary 'the border is shut' Mayorkas, Joe Biden, Root Causes Harris or Anthony 'Flip-Flop' Fauci. Add to these additional Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Chuck Schumer. There's a reason why there's a red wave heading in the Democrats' direction in 2022.
