Crime's next victim? Democrats in 2022?
Last month, St. Cloud, MN, had 3 homicides for the first time in its history. As a lifelong resident of St. Cloud, I can report that we went without a homicide for 20+ straight years. FOOTNOTE: That streak was broken when a released felon took the life of a SCSU student after the student finished her shift at a local pizzaria.
But I digress. Goldberg continues:
All of those places are run by Democratic mayors; so are the bigger cities where crime has surged. Add to that, that it’s the left wing of the Democratic Party that wants to "defund" the police, that it’s progressive Democrats who came up with the idea to "reimagine policing," and none of this bodes well for Democrats next year. What's at the core of this problem is the brazen, rampant lawlessness of the criminals. Check this out:
A month ago, Democrats tried peddling the foolishness that Republicans had defunded the police. Predictably, that fell flat on its face. What everyone recognizes is the fact that Democrats were the people who kept talking about reimagining policing. Last year, Democrats in Minneapolis voted unanimously to dismantle the police. That's when this interview went viral:
This is the untold story on the Democrats' weakness on crime:
You may have seen those news videos of young men looting high-end stores in several big cities and casually walking out onto the street with bags of merchandise. They know there are no consequences; they know they won’t be arrested and, on the outside chance that they are, they know they won’t go to jail. That’s because they also know something else: A lot of district attorneys, who also are progressive Democrats, by the way, don’t want to prosecute a whole array of crimes, which in a lot of places includes stealing whatever crooks feel like stealing.Democrats are heading for a humiliating defeat because they're wedded to a failed ideology and a loyalty to their base rather than to doing what's right. This won't be pretty.
