The Democrats' midterm Achilles heel?

To read this article, you'd think that Democrats nationwide have a problem with Hispanics. That's right. It isn't that Republican House and Senate candidates will win a majority of the Hispanic vote. It's that they'll win a greater percentage of Hispanic votes nationwide.

As stated in the article, this isn't just about Cuban-Americans in South Florida. The article said "To underscore that point during his slideshow in the NRSC conference room, Anderson flashed a quote from Democratic pollster David Shor. One important thing to know about the decline in Hispanic support for Democrats is that it was pretty broad,” Shor told New York magazine, no doubt to the delight of Republicans. 'This isn’t just about Cubans in South Florida. It happened in New York, California, Arizona and Texas. Really, we saw large drops all over the country.'"

For years, Democrats thought that they could count on Hispanics voting for Democrats with super-sized majorities. The GOP changed that by changing themselves. Hispanic voting trends are changing, which upsets the Democrats' longterm blueprint.

One thing that today's Democrats handed to Republicans is the growth of socialism. The ascendant wing of the Democratic Party is the socialist wing. Republicans are hammering that point hard and often:

Democrats think that Jan. 6th and amnesty will win the day:

The presentation comes as Rubio faces a Senate challenge from Florida Rep. Val Demings, one of the many 2022 Democratic candidates making a point of Republicans’ efforts to block the creation of a congressional commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

Other issues are at the forefront of voters’ minds, Rubio and Scott said, pointing to polling that showed 72% of Hispanics agreed that “we need to control the border” and “stop the surge of illegal immigration.” Nearly half of those voters, according to NRSC numbers, said the border crisis made them “less likely to support Democrats” in the midterms.

Saying that these aren't positive signs for Democrats is understatement. Joe Biden's budget screams open borders. Further, Biden can't turn away from his immigration position. Most importantly, House Democrats aren't interested in turning away from open borders.

Joe Biden's agenda has put Democrats in a difficult position for 2022. Democrats shouldn't be surprised to find out they've experienced another shellacking in 2022.
