Joe Biden's immigration system
If Democrats won't hold oversight hearings into the Biden administration's handling of illegal immigrants, then Democrats should be defeated en masse in November, 2022. This AP article reports on how the Biden administration hasn't enforced existing immigration laws while Democrats ignored their oversight responsibilities.
The opening paragraph of the article reads "The Biden administration is holding tens of thousands of asylum-seeking children in an opaque network of some 200 facilities that The Associated Press has learned spans two dozen states and includes five shelters with more than 1,000 children packed inside." The next paragraph says "Confidential data obtained by the AP shows the number of migrant children in government custody more than doubled in the past two months, and this week the federal government was housing around 21,000 kids, from toddlers to teens. A facility at Fort Bliss, a U.S. Army post in El Paso, Texas, had more than 4,500 children as of Monday. Attorneys, advocates and mental health experts say that while some shelters are safe and provide adequate care, others are endangering children’s health and safety."
Jen Psaki will privately regret saying this:
In response to a question, Psaki said "We don't take our advice or our counsel from former President Trump on immigration policy, which was not only inhumane but ineffective over the past 4 years. We're going to chart our own path forward and that includes treating children with humanity and respect and ensuring that they're safe when they cross our borders." Psaki said that during the March 5 briefing. Do these little girls look safe?
Why would anyone trust anything that the Biden administration says about immigration? Last Friday, DHS Secretary Mayorkas said that the border was closed. He repeated that Monday. There's nothing honest about those statements. Throughout the administration, the company line is that this isn't a crisis.
Last Friday, DHS Secretary Mayorkas told the DNC stenographers, formerly known as reporters, that the border was closed. After video this weekend showed 150 Venezuelans arriving in broad daylight, Mayorkas told White House correspondents that the border remains closed. FNC's Peter Doocy asked Mayorkas what he meant by that. Here's Mayorkas' reply:
How can the border be closed when Jen Psaki said that the Biden administration would treat "children with humanity and respect and ensuring that they're safe when they cross our borders"? If children crossing the border were treated with humanity and respect, then the cartels knew this and sent lots of children to the border. That isn't the definition of closed borders.
Further, ask border-town mayors think the border is closed. Ask hospitals and schools if the border is closed. Joe Biden's immigration system has created a mess.
